Eternal Father, strong to save

I’m thinking of all the brave Navy employees and first responders affected by the NAVSEA shootings yesterday.   Growing up in a Navy family means there are frequent occasions to hear the Navy Hymn performed (“Eternal Father”).   I hope this provides some comfort and solace.

The ascending thirds during “strong to save” always give me chills.  This impressive performance shared here features the baritones and lower registers carrying the melody.

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
